Accessibility

We endeavor to make our websites as accessible as possible to everyone. We design all of our websites using the following methodology:

  • CSS stylesheets and valid XHTML
    Using CSS stylesheets separates all of the design features on a website from the content. The valid code we write allows everyone to see the content as it should be seen.
  • Including specially written usability enhanced styles
    On our GloverSure website, there is a special page style which increases the usability. This includes a text resizing tool and more clear access key notation. Unfortunately this is currently only supported on Firefox, Opera and Konqueror.
  • Access Keys
    Access keys make a website navigable by keyboard alone; we list the keys we use on this website below.

To properly use these features we recommend using the most recent browser software to ensure they support our features.

Access Keys

The keyboard commands to use Access Keys vary. Often on a Windows machine pressing alt and the particular number or letter will activate them, on Macs and Linux machines, it is often the control key and the number or letter. The keys we use for our website are as follows:

0 = Skip to main content
H = Home
P = Portfolio
S = SMS
M = MMS
D = Design Services
C = Custom Development
N = Contact
B = About
A = Accessibility
R = Careers

Using the Enhanced Accessibility Mode

On the browsers that support it (Firefox, Opera and Konqueror), a page style that allows greater ease of access is available. To use it on Firefox, from the menu select ‘View’ then ‘Page Style’, then 'Accessibility Mode'. For Opera, it is ‘View’ then ‘Style’, and for Konqueror it is ‘View’ then ‘Use Stylesheet’. We hope that Internet Explorer and other browsers will add this functionality soon, and once this is the case we will update this page to include the necessary information.

Text Resizing

When using the enchanced accessibility mode, an option to increase or decrease the default text size becomes available. This requires Javascript to use, should you not have Javascript enabled on your computer, an other method is to use your web browser's in-built text resizing facility. The method to do this varies depending on which browser you are using, for example in Internet Explorer it is found under 'page' then 'text size', and on Firefox it is under 'view' then 'text size'.

We always attempt to make our websites as easy use for everyone as possible, though should you have any issues or questions we will be more than happy to help. You can contact us via our online contact form, email (at ) or telephone on 01938 559500.
